A challenge returning to work after a TBI

Individuals who have sustained traumatic brain injuries are classified among the disabled population with the highest rates of unemployment. Taking into consideration that work is a very central aspect of every person’s identity, which gives purpose and meaning to their life, it is important to encourage the participation of people with disabilities in the workforce.

Under this perspective, vocational rehabilitation is a field that provides a variety of vocational rehabilitation services offering assistance to individuals who have sustained traumatic brain injuries with career planning and achievement of career goals.
